Howard Moss’ photos have appeared in magazines and textbooks, on calendars and album covers and have even been exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Pratt Institute in New York. Here are some of his works taken at the opening of his recent exhibition at the Opening Night Reception.  The Kathy Brown musicians are playing in the fore ground while Moss’ photos highlight the background.

I always look forward to Bastille Day (the 14th of July is France’s National Holiday) here in Miami.  For me it’s a wonderful event in many ways.  Besides the obvious celebration to the Republic, Bastille Day 1999 was the occasion where the French Consul : Monsieur Philippe Chatignoux Knighted  Robert and me with medals (Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et les Lettres) given to us by the French Government in return  for our 20 years of Cultural and Language radio program promotion.

Bowling 101

Stylish footwear

I know nothing about bowling, or most other “sports” for that matter.  But does that stop me from participating?  No!  I may look silly on the lanes. I may not know the rules, but dumb doesn’t mean that I won’t be able to win a couple of sets here and there.  I got a whole bunch of strikes last week when I played at Lucky Strikes in South Beach and trust me; I was as surprised as the “pros” who were playing in the neighboring lanes. 

We arrived at Lucky Strikes about 7 p.m. and surprisingly found a parking space in front of the place. If you don’t visit Lincoln Road occasionally you can’t understand how fortunate it is to find a space 10’ away from where you want to be.  But I digress.

 Dear old Alice and her delirious entourage are always a festive and outrageous theme choice for any occasion. Recently, I attended one more Mad Hatter Tea Party that I must admit was deliciously demented. The event took place in the handbag department of Neiman Marcus in Merrick Park, where some of the designer purses on display, were more expensive than my first, brand-new, sunlit gold, supercharged Ford Mustang. But I digress.
